PEA OPT quality mark

When you search online for PEA, you will often see the PEA-opt® quality mark. This is a quality mark created by a producer (supplier) of PEA who tests, inspects and applies a quality mark to his own product. For this reason, PEA-opt® is not an independent quality mark (naturally, every supplier says their product is the best). Such a quality mark is therefore misleading and therefore some suppliers consciously choose not to use this quality mark.

If you have any doubts about the quality of a PEA product, ask for the certificate of analysis of the product in question.

No difference between PEA products with and PEA products without quality mark

Research has shown that there is no difference in dissolution and calculated bioavailability between PEA pure and PEA micronized. It even seems that micronized PEA dissolves less quickly than the pure form, perhaps due to surface enlargement. The conclusion is therefore that the form intended for oral administration that is not micronized, as in capsules, does not affect bioavailability. A PEA quality mark therefore only has commercial value for selling parties (they can ask a higher price), whereas this mark does not offer any added value to the consumer or the product itself.
